I will be 69 in August, Jack is 70 on 12th March and our 45th wedding anniversary is on 31st March. Our sons have made their own lives independently of us. But our daughter, Lynn, whose learning difficulties stand in the way of her becoming totally independent still needs us to be there for her. I am now more conscious than ever of how time flies and the older we get the faster it goes. Our support of Lynn must continue in the form of preparing her for the inevitable event of our death. (Although my ambition is to live to be 100). Lynn will be 38 in November and shows that she can manage without us when it comes to practical daily living, even managing better in areas where our age puts limits on what we can do. Her biggest problem without her Dad and me will be the lack of our love and emotional support.
All in all we think it is now time to make provision for her future without us. To this end we will be seeing a solicitor on 16th March to make a will outlining Lynn's needs and requirements, what is to be expected of her brothers and how our possessions are to be shared out. Once this is done I, for one, will then have peace of mind.
Bring it on! There's still a lot of living to do.
